Did God create evil? God and philosophy

did God create evilThis is one of the most controversial questions that everyone has in the back of his or her own mind. At some point in time, our human logic will ask why an all-powerful God would create the all-evil person that Christianity in our world today know as Satan.

And the question is really a valid one which makes sense to us as human beings who is trying to understand an incomprehensible God. But In this blog I would just like to share my point of view and my opinion about the “God creating Satan therefore creating evil” argument.

I think God gave all beings free will

I think God is so good that He doesn’t want his creation to be enslaved by Him or by anything. I think God wants the best for His creation and that’s why God gave us the freedom of choice. God granted His creation the gift of free will.

Evil is not created

Evil for me is defined as anything that goes against God – against His holiness. Evil therefore is not created. Evil is a choice. And in heaven, where I believe all angels have free will, Lucifer made a choice that went against God and His will. That’s how evil entered our story.

Angels have no reason to sin or to choose evil

Because God is in their presence they only have to focus on Him. They need not think of anything else than their great and awesome maker who is already in their presence. Angels have no reason to sin because they have all the reasons to obey God. If they make a mistake, they will have no excuse. Angels do not live in a fallen world. I believe that they might be the one Jesus talked about in the parable “The prodigal Son” I believe they are the firstborn.

We live in a fallen world

That’s why I always think that we are so fortunate, because every time we sin, we can be forgiven because God’s only Son died for us. How fortunate are we to have Jesus died for us! We who are a people so sinful and stiff-necked! We only have to turn away from our sinful ways and believe that Jesus did die for us and we are guaranteed 100% that we have salvation! That is the best thing that’s ever happened to the history of mankind and God.

Think about it

Evil exists and it is a choice – it’s the same in our case. But on the other hand, God exists and He is a choice as well. I choose God. I hope you will too.
