Someone Died

Someone_diedIt’s not like it doesn’t happen everyday. I know it does. But this one’s different. Someone I know died.

Someone who just greeted me “Happy birthday” 2 days ago.

You can say it’s weird. Even creepy. But for me, it’s just plain sad. It doesn’t happen everyday. In fact, this is the first time it’s ever happened to me this way.

The person died at the height of his success and passion. Something that I can relate to. When you’re doing something worthwhile, it’s hard to just die.

And that makes things even sadder.

I chanced to reflect upon what happened. This person got murdered. We have no idea who would do such a thing to such a kind and jolly person.

And in an instant it seemed that this world was devoid of all justice.

The police said it was a gunshot from the mouth. Then the second investigation said that someone whacked a hard object at the back of his head.

How can two investigations be so far away? A gunshot wound and a blunt object’s wound are never too close. Is our police force that incompetent? Are they that stupid? Lazy perhaps? Or are they just trying to hide something?

Someone died. And until now, there is no uncovered reason or purpose behind it. The shameful ruling that it was a gunshot wound when it was, in fact, a blunt object is a further degrading of this person’s death.

How can a death be so sad and shameful?

I just wish I could’ve shared the gospel with him when he took the time to greet me happy birthday on my Facebook wall.

Rest in peace sir Edralin Adriano.
