Boring Plan

Been reading Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing. He talks about having a plan if you want to invest, row and get rich. It’s funny because recently I’ve been struggling about one of my teammates being restless in his/her stay with us.

This person wants to move out regardless of anything I could do. Being a leader who is in touch with my team, I feel really bad when someone in the team decides to leave. It’s much like having a family member leave the family.

I read in the book that this is one of the reasons why people don’t get rich and don’t achieve their financial goals. It’s because they are restless – wanting to move on from job to job or from business to business. Not having a real financial plan to follow.

It’s just really sad to see that people today become more and more restless. Wanting to get rich quick. Wanting to get ‘there’ now.

Tragic.

I guess I’m writing this to remind myself that I should not be as attached a leader to people who have no real plan in life. I’m very attracted to people who do have plans for their lives. Who have goals and steps to get there. Those are the people I want in my team.

I try to teach my team these things. Some of them agree and learn. Some of them… Well.. May not.

It’s alright. I guess these are one of the things that I have to learn as a leader.

People are different. There are extremely few people like me.

Perhaps that’s also why I have a limited number of friends who are “business minded”.

Now I understand what that term means. Those are people who want to be rich and actually invest the time, effort, and thought into being it.

Everyone wants to get rich but very few people are ‘business minded’.

Welcome to the real world.

Getting rich involves a simple, mechanical, boring process of investing and managing cash flow. I’m in the early steps of getting rich. Someday soon I plan to be financially free.

Boring doesn’t sound so bad afterall.
