Strengthen faith

Numerous people profess that they are Christians but have very little knowledge about the Bible – let alone faith. Sometimes ‘life’ hits us dab smack on the face and we seem to ‘lose it’ and question everything – anything – something. Sometimes we question existence, sometimes we question God, sometimes we question ourselves – whatever it is, the root is the lack of faith.

“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.  Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”Colossians 2:6-7

When we put our roots to grow on material things, the nutrients our soul gets is nothing. Because materials can provide no food for our spirit.

When we put our roots to grow in Christ, the source of all things, our soul grows. Our spirit grows and our faith grows as well.

This discipline of allowing our roots to grow in Christ deals with His Lordship over our lives. Is Jesus really your Lord? Or is He only an insurance ticket to heaven?

Do you really follow what He says just like you would follow a government leader/lord who tells you to do something?

How much Lordship you give to Jesus is how well your roots are placed – and your faith is better and feeds your spirit more.
