We all face decisions in life that we have to decide upon one way or another. Some are easy for us and some are not. Some choices we can make in a matter of seconds or in a whim – others we make in days months or even years. Making a choice is already a way of life for us. It is a gift from God – a very delicate gift from God.
In exams and games when we commit a mistake it’s just not perfect anymore. And whatever you do, it won’t become perfect anymore. But a lot of people strive to be perfect at least in exams and in games. They want to be the best. Mistakes and failures are not an option for them. They will repeat it if they have the chance to.
What about our lives? Have we ever thought about living perfectly? The rival of perfection is not mistake – it’s compromise. It’s when you don’t know the answer in the exam and you still pick out an answer anyway even when you’re not sure if it’s the right one – just so you’ve answered everything. It’s when you go a little lower from your standards in life. It’s when you sway from your goals a bit, curve a bit – not really making a u-turn but straying from the right path nontheless.
When we keep on compromising on the little choices we have in life – it may not matter for us and it may not seem like we’ve made mistakes because they might be little, petty choices for you. But when you keep on compromising on the little decisions God has put in your responsibility, chances are you’ll think you could also get away with the big ones. That’s when you realize that you’ve committed a mistake and your life can never be what it once was ever again.
That one choice was influenced by millions of experiences and decisions you’ve let yourself make. And you might think “It’s just another choice” but that ONE choice will change your life in ways you can never imagine. It’s the choices we make each and everyday that change and mold us into who we are. And those same choices are the ones that lead us into the lives we now live. And those very same choices are the ones influencing your circle of influence – be it family, friends, relatives or whomever.
Make every choice count. One of them might destroy you – think about it.
The ability to make a choice is the steering wheel of your life. The choice itself is the course which you make as you go along. The Bible is the map and God is the best driver there is waiting for you to let Him handle the driving.
