Yes it exists. Now the word ‘perfect’ here is relative of course as the saying goes ‘beauty is in the eyes of the beholder’ so it follows the same route.

The world has too often peppered us with the thought “being married is not a fairy tale”. That divorce rates are increasing, that infidelity is more common than we think, or that marriage is more work than fun and you’re better off living ‘young, wild and free’.

This is the picture the worlds paints in television, in movies, in social media and perhaps that’s because this is what the world believes is exciting and controversial – and it spreads.

We are led to believe that good is boring and bad is exciting.

I’m here to tell you today that good is the best thing that you will ever have in this life. And bad is thrilling only for a short, fleeting while – after that, regret and sorrow fills your spirit.

Finding the perfect spouse is not easy. Much like how the most valuable treasures are found with much planning, preparing, equipping and finally having much courage to set on an expedition. Finding the perfect spouse is also a long, grueling, but worthy endeavor.

In fact, I do believe that very few things are more worthy than finding the perfect spouse. Because it will make or break the rest of your life.

My journey started when I realized that it is a God-sized journey and I will never be able to accomplish it alone. I prayed daily for my future spouse since I was 12 years old.

Fast forward and I finally met her when I was 21 and we got married when I was 24.

I’m 33 now as I write this and I want the world to know that the perfect spouse does exist. My wife may not be perfect for someone else but she is certainly perfect for me.

I could never imagine having more support, help and encouragement from anyone else but my wife. She also challenges me and helps me to become a better man, leader and father.

A ton of my success would not be possible without her. A ton of the good in me would not be there without her. A ton of my joy would not exist without her.

It requires patience and discipline and faith – lots of it – to wait and guard your heart and keep the best part of yourself so that when you meet your perfect spouse, you can give that person the best of you and have a truly good and joyful marriage.

Just like how you come to the realization that you are in the perfect place in your life when things just pieces itself together and you have that unexplainable contentment in your soul – you will be able to look back through all the imperfections, bumps and bruises in your journey and realize that you have the best of who you are, what you possess and how you feel because you married the perfect person to go along with you.

There is no blueprint to this. No stars to read to guide you to the right direction. No charts or maps. You just have to follow the next bend on the road and at the end of it all, trust in God – that He can show you the way.
