The clean, white-sanded beach. Dancing coconut trees with the fresh, strong wind. The peace and quiet of just 8 villas facing the ocean. There’s nothing quite like this place.
We stayed at Qi (read as “chi“) Palawan for our honeymoon. It’s located an hour away from El Nido’s bus terminal. Qi Palawan has really nice rooms made from a combination of bamboo, insulators and cement.
The owners of the place is a very hospitable couple named Bettina and Ishmael. It’s a place that makes you feel really homey because the facilities and provisions are quite modern – and yet so close to nature.
Me and my wife are bombarded with stress, work and problems on a daily basis. Coming to Qi Palawan really helped us relax and forget about work and what we had back home. We were really in a slice of paradise.
We got to relax, unwind, appreciate the craftsmanship of God with the view and the wind.
We got to read a lot and write and think – things which we love to do especially in the absence of work and business. We were given the 2-floor, beachfront villa which was simply amazing! I recommend you book that one.
The furnishings and appliances are really very nice. You know that the owners really invested in the things you are going to use. It’s a combination of nature and peaceful living with all your urban needs in tact.
Electricity is sourced through generators so power is turned off around three times a day – mostly when you don’t need to use it or when you’re not in the villa, or are asleep. It is advised to take a battery pack with you for your mobile just in case.
There’s 3g connection for Globe but not for Sun or Smart. So it’s quite perfect for honeymoon with no temptation to check your emails. It’s an excellent choice for people who are planning to have a peaceful, quiet, nature filled vacation.
Kite boarding is one of the main attractions of Qi Palawan. They even have a trainer who can teach you kite boarding for a full 10 hours. So you could learn the safeties and techniques. I personally haven’t tried it though because when Apple and I came, the wind died down the moment we decided to do Kite boarding.
Bettina and her husband Ishmael is a wonderful host. They really take care of you on the way even with the van accommodations going to their resort. They’re also very accommodating with your needs and requests.
Food is great – mainly because Ishmael is a chef and he loves to make sure that the meals are done right.
Things to Remember:
Make sure everything is charged on your way. Pack a sunblock because chances are, you are going to spend a lot of time under the sun.
You can book through their website. Bettina checks her emails but she has to go to the next town to get a consistent 3g so the replies may not be as prompt.
Some Improvements: No bidets or pail or tabo but you can request for one. I think they plan to install a bidet soon.
