Sean Speaking at Orix
I was called in to meet with the board – the president, the VP, the IT head and the HR in charge of the event. They asked my age and I said “I’m turning 28”. Mr. President (a well-versed man who looks like he’s on his late 40’s) laughed – he had a good laugh. I didn’t know if I should feel ashamed or awkward. Definitely awkward.

But he continued on to say “We’re going to be lectured by a 28 year old!” It’s either he’s not happy about that or he’s impressed. “Perhaps you could give us a discount, Mr. Si?” I charge per hour for my talks and he wasn’t too excited about my rate.

Then finally, it’s Jan 30. Showtime.

At 8am, the room was packed with branch managers. Crossed arms, and serious faces painted the audience. They all looked like they were well over 30 and full of experience.

I was nervous.

After the talk at Dusit Thani hotel, he told my PA to give me the check, shook my hand and what he said changed that experience to extreme exhilaration.

“It was well worth it.”

For that day… That entire day… I needed nothing else.
