Focus is key

Been a huge fan of how Noah Kagan grew his online companies. He always and I do mean ALWAYS keeps things simple. Most of his principles start out like these two things:

  1. Begin with the end in mind
  2. Double down on the things that work

And I looooooooove it!

This year we’re looking to grow SEO Hacker to around 50 people. With that, we have to put our focus on how we grew from 1 – 25 (which is where we are now).

The questions at the back of my head are:

  1. How did we increase our revenue? Can we scale that exponentially?
  2. How were we able to hire better, more disciplined and tech savvy people?
  3. How were we able to better our brand recognition? How did that turn into business?
  4. Which modes of marketing worked?
  5. How were we able to maintain a significantly long-term relationship with our clients?

If we can pinpoint the things we did exactly right, we can pump in more of our budget in there. There can’t be so many things we did right and there can’t be so many things to be done moving forward. There can only be a few, winning strategies that we have to keep doing again and again and again.

Focus and simplicity.
