A well-made 3d video of Google’s history. From 2 young visionaries into a multi-billion dollar company (Or maybe even trillion, I’m not sure). It grew so fast in a short span of time
How come us human beings have such a thing called marriage? How come other living things in our world don’t have marriage? What makes us different from them? Why do we need it?
Such a simple question and I want to hear your thoughts about it. You can post it in the forums (The link is below) or in this blog. (I’d appreciate it more if you post it in the forums though) =)
This is to help me for my next blog entry

If you have a reliable calendar in your bathroom that you got for free from your local drugstore, then I don’t need to point out that 2009 is coming to an end. And every 365 days, humanity initiates the inevitable “year-ends”.
There are the year-end sales at malls, year-end inventories, year-end vacations, and my personal favorite, the year-end List of the Best and Worst Movies of 2009.
I’m already halfway finished with my list, and I’m making sure that I watch as many movies released this year so that no film will be left out for consideration. But since I have to do my homework, go to school, change my underwear, re-arrange my DVD collection, and re-rearrange it again every time I buy another new DVD from Manong DVD with Lady Gaga t-shirt, I might not be able to watch every single film that was released this year.
A few days ago, while I was fantasizing Edward Cullen suffering the torture of being tied to a chair being forced to watch a hundred episodes of Barney Unrated, I realized that I could ask for help. Dear reader, I ask for your help. Maybe I missed a few movies that you didn’t. Maybe it deserves to be on the “Best” category or the “Worst” category; nonetheless, it’s equally helpful.
My List of the Best and Worst Movies of 2009 is due by the end of the year. (See what I did there? I was testing your common sense. Don’t worry, you passed.) And I plan to post here in Sean’s new and improved and shinier site, so I want it to be credible.
Post your entries at the God and you forums HERE!!!
Want to start a blog? A forum? Want to start your own site? Well here’s how I did it and I wanted to share this with you.
Hosting your own website would mean cashing out a bit for you to have a dot-com site you can call your own. If you’re a blogger who can invest time, money and effort on your blogging, then you better get your own dot-com site now because if you start with free hosting and THEN decide to switch, it’ll be more difficult than starting from scratch with all the fixes you’d have to do. But that’s another topic altogether.
I started my site by asking my brother (who also hosts his own site) how he did it. He taught me about web.com.ph and how he applied so that’s what I’m going to be teaching you guys today.
Go to web.com.ph and click the “Order” link on personal web hosting for individuals & professionals (800/year)
Select “I want WEB.COM.PH Inc. to register a new domain for me.” Write down your domain name on the space provided. That’s basically going to be your URL. Think hard on this because you’d want to brand yourself on the internet as your popularity goes up. You don’t want to be too common and you don’t want to be hidden from the radar either.
I’d advise you to choose the dot-com which is 500php a year. Next, check out on your order and fill up the account details with your info. Complete the order.
Next thing to do is to pay them so that your site would be up as soon as the next day (if the bank is still open, that is). They have three bank accounts: BPI, Metrobank and BDO. You have to deposit the 1,300php to one of those accounts and keep the deposit slip. You need the deposit slip because you’ll have to fax it to them, or scan it and then email it to them as proof of your purchase.
After you’ve paid, they will up your site in the next 1 or 2 days. You have to be patient because even when it’s up, they’re still tweaking it.
So that’s how to set up your own site. Simple, easy and doable. 1.3k pesos is not a big price to pay considering it runs for a year. Next off, I’ll talk about how to set up your blogsite using wordpress.
If God is really in control in every detail and aspect of our lives, how can we say that we still have free will? But if we have full control of our lives and choices, how can we say that God is in control? Don’t these ideas negate each other? Let me explain from some of the words of Ravi Zacharias.
“My freedom is not absolute, my freedom is qualified”
Our free will is given with parameters. We never asked for certain things in our lives but we were given it. I am placed here in the Philippines, a Chinese-blooded Filipino, I never asked for my looks, my gifts, I never asked for my parentage and my language but I was given it. So immediately, we know that our freedom is not absolute, to an extent, we are contained.
God’s sovereignty still reigns in our lives. His sovereignty and our free will are not mutually exclusive from each other. They exist because they are not absolute. At some point there are things in our lives that were given to us not by our choice. We have to understand this in order for us to fully grasp the idea of free will and God’s sovereignty, Lordship and control over our lives.
But freedom comes with a price. Even if it is free and it is a gift, won’t you want to be grateful to the Giver in any way? The only thing we can do with our freedom is to please the Giver with it.
Billions of people here on Earth. We are free to choose. Look at what’s happening around us – in all of this, God is sovereign over all our lives.
I just finished watching transformers 2 last week when I saw this youtube video. Gave me some laughs. Anyway I thought it made sense so I’m gonna post it here.
Daniel is usually renowned for his faith in God with his story about him and the lion’s den. I really enjoyed that story when I was a kid. Now that I’ve grown up I’ve come to appreciate and understand it a whole lot more. But what really got into my mind was his story about his cry for help from God.
This passage from Daniel 10 really intrigued me.
10Then behold, a hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.
11He said to me, “O Daniel, man of high esteem, understand the words that I am about to tell you and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you ” And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up trembling.
12Then he said to me, ” Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words.
13“But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.
Verse 11 says that Daniel was a man of high esteem. This really intrigued me because the next verse says that his words were heard and the angel has come in response to his words. Isn’t a response what we long for these days? A response to our prayers and requests?
Daniel, being a man highly esteemed by God was sent a response immediately after he prayed. The angel was only delayed by the prince (an fallen angel) of Persia. I desire God’s response in my life. What made Daniel a man highly esteemed? He set his heart on understanding what God wanted to reveal to him and he humbled himself before God.
By understanding the things God wanted to reveal to him, he was obeying what God purposed for him. By humbling himself before God, he was giving God all the glory that came with understanding these revelations.
Having a big responsibility as Daniel’s, we sometimes get carried away with our pride and we fail to remember God and His sovereignty in our lives. Daniel kept his eyes on God and even when he has done so many things in God’s favour, still he is humble (and that is coming from an angel of the Lord, not from himself).
Do you want God to respond to your prayers? Follow Daniel’s example. He changed me.
I’ve got a new search engine installed! Works great! It searches the blog-site exclusively. It’s easy to use and let’s the search results display on my site! La lang… Saya ko =) Try it!
Why did God save us?
Why send His one and only beloved Son down to Earth to suffer and die for us?
Doesn’t it seem just for God to just leave us be because of our everyday desire for our own selfish pleasure rooted in our sinful nature?
Isn’t it illogical that God would save us – people who have hurt Him so much and have defied His rule and justice in our lives? Even more illogical is the price He paid to save us – sending His own Son to be ridiculed, tortured and killed by the world who doesn’t acknowledge Him even up until now.
So why save us? Why save such sinful people?
If God saved us for the wrong reasons, it’ll be devastating. Imagine all of the reasons God can have to save humankind. But God could have no other reason than the one which speaks of Himself – His nature.
God is love. We no longer have the ability to comprehend the word “love” in our world today anymore because of how the world has changed, defaced, cheapened and defiled its meaning and what it stands for. Love – true love is the reason that God saved us. And this is to glorify Himself, showing His nature in doing so. That of all the nature that God has in Him, the greatest is love.
God saved us because He loves us – simple as that, and yet so complex if you really think about it. He loves us so much that He wants us to see His glory. God’s glory is the reason we are saved. He is glorified when He loves a people such as us. Unruly, stiff-necked, rooted in sin, and yet God’s grace is infinite and most powerful to forgive us of ourselves. Isn’t it amazing how this is possible? I cannot comprehend it, and that’s why there’s faith.
It’s such a relief and joy to me that God didn’t save us for any other reason than His unconditional love for us. His love saved me.
Think about it.
