Why did God save us?

Why send His one and only beloved Son down to Earth to suffer and die for us?Save the planet for the wrong reason

Doesn’t it seem just for God to just leave us be because of our everyday desire for our own selfish pleasure rooted in our sinful nature?

Isn’t it illogical that God would save us – people who have hurt Him so much and have defied His rule and justice in our lives? Even more illogical is the price He paid to save us – sending His own Son to be ridiculed, tortured and killed by the world who doesn’t acknowledge Him even up until now.

So why save us? Why save such sinful people?

If God saved us for the wrong reasons, it’ll be devastating. Imagine all of the reasons God can have to save humankind. But God could have no other reason than the one which speaks of Himself – His nature.

God is love. We no longer have the ability to comprehend the word “love” in our world today anymore because of how the world has changed, defaced, cheapened and defiled its meaning and what it stands for. Love – true love is the reason that God saved us. And this is to glorify Himself, showing His nature in doing so. That of all the nature that God has in Him, the greatest is love.

God saved us because He loves us – simple as that, and yet so complex if you really think about it. He loves us so much that He wants us to see His glory. God’s glory is the reason we are saved. He is glorified when He loves a people such as us. Unruly, stiff-necked, rooted in sin, and yet God’s grace is infinite and most powerful to forgive us of ourselves. Isn’t it amazing how this is possible? I cannot comprehend it, and that’s why there’s faith.

It’s such a relief and joy to me that God didn’t save us for any other reason than His unconditional love for us. His love saved me.

Think about it.
