Some people tell me that faith is all they need

Some people tell me otherwise

Still, some people tell me that faith is just an excuse for laziness… or for fear

Which is which? “Faith is the substance of things hoped for – the evidence of things not seen.”

“Faith without deeds is dead” – it is deception.

But without faith, then it would be acting on knowledge. If you knew everything, there wouldn’t be faith anymore would it?

Baby JumpsA baby that’s standing on a higher table, when called to jump by his dad will jump if he trusts his dad. That is faith. Even if fear and reasoning is against what you’re about to do – but you do it because you believe in the person asking you to do it.

There’s still your part – you have to actually DO IT. You have to jump. Faith cannot be lazy. Faith must be proceeded by action. A lazy faith cannot be faith at all – it’s foolishness. Also, faith must be absolute. It must be 100%, a little less than that and it’s not faith anymore. Even a hint of doubt makes faith turn into a question of belief and alter the object of your faith.

Sometimes it becomes more of a question of “Do I have enough faith?” Or “Am I trusting enough?” Where is God in the picture? You have faith in the wrong object – when those are the questions that pop into your mind, you’re actually making FAITH itself the object of your faith.

So what is the right question? Ask yourself, where do you place your faith in? I think the right questions would be: “Have I really given this up to God?” Or “Do I really trust God in this?” Then do the things that are in accordance to His word so that your faith is complete.

How will your trust in God grow? Through your relationship with Him. Just like my example of the baby who trusts his dad, if you have the right relationship with God, you’ll know that He wants only the best for you and that He cares for you and that He loves you even more than you love your own self! Even in times of trouble or in times of comfort and peace.

leap-of-faithDo you really have faith in God? Faith alone in itself is void. Put God in the picture and everything will make sense.

Don’t just say you believe – do it. Jump out to God even if the space between seems immeasurable – even if the height of where you’re standing is terrifying. Faith makes the circumstances seem easy in light of God.

That is my challenge to you.
