Sean and Apple rainshot

I’m a rabid eater. When food is in front of me, I eat. Fast. I’m not the type who will chew and let the flavors play around my palate.

And that’s fine. Because I realize when I try to eat slower, it doesn’t taste as delicious anymore.

I’m a newly married man. By God’s great grace, everything is going well. There are ups and downs but I can say that everything is going well.

We have our own 3-story townhouse. The floor area is not really that big, but it’s a huge blessing. My wife’s dad was generous enough to bless us with our first home.

As I’m writing this, I’m here now in our living room. My laptop’s at the center table. Apple’s sleeping upstairs.

It’s 4:30 in the afternoon and the sun is gently starting to withdraw. Everything seems mellow and I could think and reflect.

Life goes by fast. My wedding day had a whole year in preparation. But just like that, it shone for a day – and then it was gone.

A one big day of celebrating our marriage.

February 22 is almost a month away now. It seems to me like it’s gone by for a year.

I would love to relive it again if only for the memory and the feeling.

Someday I know I would desire to relive it more. Perhaps when Apple is further from me as I’m away for a business trip. Or if problems arise.

Someday I know I’ll have a child. And the whole 9 months of pregnancy will pass us by.

Life has its ways of making you nostalgic.

And because of that, I want to savor it. To play it around with the palate of my heart. I want to take in and treasure everything.

I love my life. I love where I am. I love my wife and my family. I love my business. I love my friends. I love where God has put me and where God is taking me.

I think it’s one of those days when you realize that you just want to stop time from ticking and relish each moment with the people you love as who you are right now. A young man of 25 with his life and ambitions ahead of him.

I know that you might not be in the same boat as I am. But if you know you’re going to sail the same sea soon, I hope this buoy will help you find the way.

To life, love and the future.
