Switchfoot is coming back to the Philippines this April 30, 2011 with Hello Hurricane. The concert will be held at Philsports Arena. This band is one of my favorite Christian bands around. They sang the “A Walk to Remember” theme song “Dare you to Move” and, my personal favorite, “Gone”

Switchfoot Manila 2011About Switchfoot (taken from the Becca Music webpage):

Switchfoot – comprising Jon Foreman (vocals/guitar), Tim Foreman (bass), Chad Butler (drums), Jerome Fontamillas (keys/guitar) and Drew Shirley (guitar) – has sold over 4.4 million albums in its career. Founded in San Diego, CA in 1996, Switchfoot released three independent records before its breakthrough album, 2003’s The Beautiful Letdown, which was certified multi-Platinum. Each of the band’s subsequent studio albums – 2005’s Nothing Is Sound, 2006’s Oh! Gravity and 2009’s Hello Hurricane – debuted in the Top 20 of The Billboard 200 and elicited critical acclaim.

The Best Yet, the group’s first-ever greatest hits collection, was released in November of 2008. Switchfoot has been touring extensively in support of Hello Hurricane and has recently appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” In addition to StandUp For Kids, the band has partnered with Habitat for Humanity, the ONE Campaign, To Write Love on Her Arms and numerous other charities.

Their latest Hello Hurricane (2009) is their first self-produced album as an independent band. It is also just the first release of four albums-worth of material as announced by Switchfoot. Their next album will be called Vice Verses, set to be released at an undetermined date.

Switchfoot last came to Manila in September 10, 2007. Their upcoming 2011 concert will be the second time the band visits the Philippines.
