Happy, happy birthday Ma! It’s been 22 years of fun and laughter, of joy and of tears. 22 Years of sharing our lives together living through God’s grace in our lives. It’s been 22 years for me but I know that you’ve had a much longer episode than that.
So for your birthday I wrote out a little song – it’s not much and I kinda crammed for it. But I made it especially for you nonetheless. For just being my mom, thank you. There will never be another you in my life and so your place in my heart is deeply set. May you live long and well and may I learn to cherish every moment with you as God would have us spend in this life together.
May God bless you with happiness and abundant friends who will encourage you and glorify God with you and lead you more to Him both in spiritual growth and in ministry. May God grant you the desires of your heart – whatever you plan to do. May God bless you and remember you and most importantly, may you always remember Him.
Happy birthday Ma!
You cared for me when I was yet to be,
You held my unformed body in you.
Gave me your love and sung to me,
Taught me abc and peek-a-boo.
You are my mother
I grew a little, full of energy and wants,
Gave you my share of screams and tantrums.
I broke your stuff and ruined your plants,
But you loved me nonetheless.
You are my mother
Time went by and I wanted independence,
My own idea of freedom.
You gave me space and room to learn,
And guided me to wisdom.
You are my mother
And now that I’m a man of 22,
Building and living a life of my own.
Yet your love for me remains unchanged,
Through all the years you’ve seen me grown.
You are my mother
I cannot thank you enough for your love and support,
For the years of looking out for me.
I cannot thank you enough for being there for me,
To give me light when I can’t see.
You are my mother
And I will always be your son. May I always be a blessing and a joy in your life. I wish you all the best and may you thoroughly enjoy this day – the day when God brought a very special you into the world.
